Before our second date on the boat ride, British Boy asked me what kind of cocktails I like, because he planned to make them on the boat. Which I thought was cute and sweet. So I told him I like lemon drops made with vanilla vodka (try them, they are delicious).

So when he gets out all of his supplies to make the drinks, he pulls out this lemon sugar and tells me he got this special sugar to put on the rims. When guys do things like that it just KILLS ME. Can someone be more charming and adorable? He bought special sugar to make me a cocktail!

Things like that are the very best part for me about dating. As much as I want a boyfriend, the way that some guys act in the beginning when they are trying to impress girls reminds me why friends in relationships have the nerve to be envious of their single friends...

British Boy is coming over tomorrow for the first time. Hopefully it will be fun.

Today was the first day of work, and I am exhausted. I got about three hours of sleep, and I am forcing myself to stay awake right now so that I can get my sleeping back on track.

I'm watching the DNC right now. It will be interesting to see our future first lady speak.

I can't remember if I have mentioned I have been watching the best show ever--In Treatment. I have one more episode of the series (I have been watching it on On Demand, and they only give them five episodes at a time). It is basically a therapist (Gabriel Byrne--SO AMAZING IN THIS) and the different sessions he has with patients throughout the week, and then the poor guy has therapy of his own at the end of the week. It is so, so good. My favorite one of his clients (and I think she must be everyone's favorite who has seen this show) is Sophie, a 16-year-old gymnast. This is seriously one of my all-time favorite fictional characters--the actress playing her is so talented. Anyway, I highly recommend this show, but it doesn't come out on DVD until next year for some unknown reason.

Our team meeting today went so much more smoothly than it has in the past. We met our new learning specialist and she seems like she's going to be great. I also love our team leader (but I already knew her). It's so weird trying to get back into the swing of all the tiny little details that go with teaching. Just trying to arrange my room and remind myself of all of the ways we do things in my classroom and how to teach those procedures...I'm nervous and excited.

I liked Michelle Obama's speech. She seems genuine, if a bit nervous. I like that she mentioned mental health care and Obama's commitment to equal rights for women. I hate to say it, but I did not love her outfit AT ALL. Not very flattering to her shoulders.

I'm going up to visit my friend Jasmine this weekend. I am very excited.
